When it comes to conveyors, a major cereal
manufacturer found out the hard way that buckets and chains don't equal cleanliness. That's why the cereal
manufacturer replaced a relatively new conveyor system with the Dorner AquaPruf LPZ Series stainless steel
elevating incline conveyor.
Engineered to have the fastest cleaning times
in the industry, the AquaPruf LPZ Series can be disassembled for cleaning, without tools, in only 30 seconds.
Using the AquaPruf stainless steel LPZ means less equipment downtime for cleaning and a higher
return-on-investment for customers.
As with any food company, maintaining safe
and sanitary conditions in the processing and packaging of their products is a main concern. However, the cereal
manufacturer quickly found out that its new bucket-and-chain conveyor used to move product up an incline was
difficult to clean on a daily basis and didn't meet their sanitary needs. Another challenge in properly cleaning
the conveyor was that it stretched more than 20 feet in the air at a 45-degree angle.
To address those concerns, the company turned
to Dorner and its stainless steel Engineered To Order (ETO) program, which gives extra attention to building
conveyors with unique dimensions and characteristics above and beyond the dimensions of Dorner's regular
conveyor platforms.
The AquaPruf LPZ Series conveyor platform,
part of the AquaPruf family of sanitary slat conveyors, is designed with
one or two fixed angle points that allow the conveyor to accommodate a variety of height and angle requirements.
Offering an AquaPruf LPZ Series platform gives customers a stainless steel conveyor system with all the sanitary
advantages of fast and effective cleaning, with the flexibility of moving product up an incline or down a
decline to best fit their needs. Also, the AquaPruf LPZ Series saves valuable production floor space.
In building the AquaPruf LPZ Series for the
cereal manufacturer, Dorner used a positive-driven USDA-approved solid urethane belt for smooth, consistent
operation in wet, humid environments. The AquaPruf LPZ Series, with a theromdrive urethane belt will not stretch
in humid conditions and has no bacteria-harbouring hinges or pins. Another sanitary feature of the AquaPruf LPZ
Series platform is its open-frame design that allows for easy access to cleaning the frame and both the top and
bottom sides of the belt - all of which provide a stainless steel conveyor system that's more sanitary and
easier to clean than any other conveyor on the market today.
The AquaPruf LPZ Series conveyor comes in
three types of configurations: Z-frame, which has two angle points; horizontal-to-incline, a design which has a
section of the conveyor up an incline; and nose-over, a design which has a section of the conveyor on a decline.
All three configurations come in either plastic chain or belt options.
Delivery time for standard AquaPruf LPZ
Series conveyor systems is only about 10 - 12 days from time of order.
